Sailing School

Sailing Days is an RYA recognised sail training school  based in Chichester Harbour on the Sussex and Hampshire border.

Learn to sail and navigate safely with Sailing Days.

RYA Practical Courses take place  in the Solent, along the Sussex and Hampshire coasts to the West Country. Become familiar with training areas such as Portsmouth, Southampton, Poole, Cowes and other Isle of Wight Harbours

We also offer Yacht Charter with a fully qualified Skipper for Day Sails or family holidays

RYA shorebased theory courses at our well equipped classroom in Westergate : Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster, VHF/DSC radio, First Aid at Sea and  Diesel Engine; or courses can be arranged at your club or sailing school.

Classmate is a strongly constructed and seaworthy 36-foot (11 metre) Westerly Conway ketch.

She is fully equipped for safety and comfort and long distance cruising with eight berths in three heated cabins, two heads and full galley facilities.

Navigation and safety equipment includes GPS chart-plotter, Radar, DSC radio, NAVTEX,6-man life-raft, EPIRB and MOB recovery systems.

Our Principal and Classmate's Skipper, Malcolm Fieldhouse began sailing in Chichester Harbour in 1967 whilst in the RAF and started Sailing Days in 1996 after a career in teaching. He is also an RNLI Sea Safety Adviser and would be happy to do a free RNLI Sea Check on your boat. Contact us to arrange an appointment.
